Add the strawberries to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. You should end up with about 1/2 cup puree.
2. Keep the oven at 350 degrees F. Grease two 8-inch cake pans. Set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
4. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter on low speed until smooth and creamy. Add sugar and beat on medium-low speed until light and fluffy, about 8-10 minutes.

After all 4 layers have been stacked and frosted, use remaining strawberry frosting to frost sides.
