Increase the heat to medium and simmer gently until the mixture thickens and mounds on the spoon (about 20-22 minutes) stirring frequently. Remove from heat and cool just slightly.
7. Place in refrigerator for rapid jelling (the mixture will thicken more while chilling). When cooled divide into plastic containers, seal tightly with a lid and freeze.
