To us Filipinos, there is no easier way to prepare Pork Embutido than Steaming it. And to make our delicacy more special, aside from the main ingredient Ground Pork, we put in eggs, sliced Hotdogs, raisins, and cheddar cheese. You can add other ingredients as well as bell pepper and onions if you want.
Please read my disclosure policy. Pork Embutido is a Filipino-style meatloaf made with a festive mixture of ground pork, carrots, and raisins wrapped around slices of eggs and sausage. Steamed to perfection, they’re great for everyday dinner meals as well as special occasions.
Instructions In a pan over medium heat, heat about 1 tablespoon of oil. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, crushed pineapple, carrots, sauteed onions, raisins, ketchup, beaten eggs, salt and pepper. On the center of a 12-inch aluminum foil, spread 1/3 of the pork mixture creating a rectangular shape.
Embutido is a Filipino meatloaf from ground pork. Usually steamed, covered in aluminum foil, can be frozen afterward to last for a month. Eaten cold or fried dipped in ketchup or sweet chili sauce. Put all ingredients, except the last 2, in a large bowl. Mix everything together using your hand to make sure that all is well incorporated. Set aside.
