Watermelon Slushie (3 Ingredients!) The watermelon slushie is an ultra refreshing summer drink! All you need is three ingredients for this icy treat. Chop the watermelon into cubes. Blend the melon, sugar and lime juice until it becomes liquid. Add the ice and blend until a slushie consistency forms (resist the urge over-blend).
Place watermelon and ice into a blender. Pour in lime juice, sugar, and salt. Blend until smooth. 79 calories; protein 0.8g; carbohydrates 20.6g; fat 0.2g; sodium 60.9mg. Full Nutrition I grew up making watermelon-lime slushies with frozen pieces of watermelon rather than bothering with ice. The flavor turns out better and stronger that way.
So this low carb watermelon drink is super easy to make. I started with a quarter of a medium sized watermelon. I cut out the flesh and blended it in my blender until it was pureed. I then used a paper towel lined colander inside a larger bowl to strain out the pulp.
I poured the watermelon juice into a pitcher and added 4 cups of water. I then sweetened it with ¼ teaspoon of liquid stevia. It was so easy peasy and so delicious! It seriously has so much flavor from the watermelon! Instead of plain water, you could use sparkling water to fizz it up. You could also add some fresh mint to jazz it up!
