Total Time: 1 hr 10 minsServings: 4Calories: 309 per serving1. Spray a large frying pan over a medium high heat with spray oil, add the onion and garlic to the pan and cook until softened. Add the carrot and cook for a further 3-4 mins.
2. Add in the ground beef, fresh thyme and rosemary and cook until browned, breaking up any big lumps with the back of a wooden spoon.
3. Add the stock, tomato paste, marmite, Worcestershire sauce and balsamic vinegar and bring to the boil, reduce heat and allow to simmer for approx 20mins until sauce thickens.
4. Set aside and allow to cool completely (I find this works better to layer the potatoes on top)

2. Place celeriac in a large saucepan. Add about 1/2 teaspoon salt (reserving the other 1/2 teaspoon). Cover celeriac with cold water. Cover saucepan tightly and put over high heat. Bring to a boil, then turn heat to low. Simmer until celeriac is tender--about 10 minutes.
3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.* When hot, add ground beef. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
4. Spoon the ground beef mixture into the prepared pan. Spread the celeriac mixture on top. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup cheese.
