1. heat the oats with milk/water and pinch of salt over medium hear so that the porridge doesn't stick to the pan
2. The oats will soften as they soak up the liquid and it all comes together between 10-12 minutes or so
3. The porridge is ready when it is soft but not gone completely to mush. It's all a matter of taste.
4. serve with milk or yogurt and any toppings of nuts, fruit, jam etc that you fancy
