Take fresh Brussels sprouts, olive oil, butter, salt, and pepper. Roast the Brussels and toss to coat the butter sauce evenly. Bake the sprouts to perfection and serve with butter sauce. Alternatively, you can also fry them. The choice is yours! For the toppings, you can add crispy fried onions, pour balsamic glaze, or your choice of dippings.
The Brussel sprouts will be lightly browned on the outside and tender on the inside when they are done. About 10 minutes before the Brussels sprouts are done, place the butter into a small pot over medium heat. Swirl continually over the heat. The butter will begin to brown.
Put the Brussels sprouts in a colander and rinse them off in cold water. Dry thoroughly. Use a sharp knife to cut off the brown, woody bottom where the sprout attached it to the plant. Be sure not to slice off too much, or the leaves will begin to separate. Remove the first layer of leaves and examine the ones underneath.
