How do you make Kielbasa Kapusta? First, melt the butter and bacon drippings until foaming stops in a large skillet for a couple of minutes. Next, add onions and cook, occasionally stirring, for about 8 minutes. Then, drain the sauerkraut at least twice, ensuring it is well-drained before putting it in the crockpot.
Add cabbage and cook, stirring occasionally, until slightly wilted, about 3 minutes. Add broth, potatoes, dill, caraway, paprika, pepper and salt. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to maintain a simmer and cook, uncovered, until the potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes. Stir in vinegar and the kielbasa.
In a stockpot, add sauerkraut and bring to boil; rinse and drain. Return sauerkraut to stockpot and add enough water to cover sauerkraut. In a small skillet, saute onion in butter until soft. Add butter beans and cook at least 30 minutes. Add kielbasa and cook 45 minutes to 1 hour, the longer the better.
Add the butter, garlic, onion powder, hot sauce and Swerve brown sweetener. Whisk to get everything together to get the butter to melt and the sweetener to dissolve. Now add in the cabbage noodles and mix with the sauce. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes until the noodles soften. Add back the kielbasa and mix once more.
