INGREDIENTS. 1 1 cup (250 mL) sugar. 2 1 cup (250 mL) water. 3 1 12-ounce pack (340 g) Ocean Spray® Fresh or Frozen Cranberries, rinsed and drained.
Whisk together the sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat until dissolved. Increase the heat and bring to a boil. Stir in the cranberries and return to boil. Reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove it from the heat. Allow the sauce to cool completely to room temperature.
DIRECTIONS. Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to boil; add cranberries, return to boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover and cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate until serving time. Makes 2 1/4 cups.
No one will guess it’s a low sugar cranberry sauce, where the only sugars come from the cranberries. Some so-called healthy cranberry sauce recipes add orange juice, but this actually adds a lot of sugar. And, it’s totally unnecessary to get that hint of orange flavor.
