I have looked for years for the recipe, they are the best cookies ever!!! Combine flour salt and soda. Cream shortening, adding sugar gradually and cream until fluffy. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Stir in mincemeat. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well. Drop by teaspoonsful about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheat.
STIR together flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Gradually add to shortening mixture, mixing well. Stir in mincemeat. DROP by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from baking sheets to wire rack to cool completely.

Start with 3 and a quarter cups of all-purpose flour. Stir in 1 tsp of baking soda and 1/2 tsp of salt. Cream 1 cup of vegetable shortening and add 1.5 cups of brown sugar gradually and cream until it seems fluffy. Vegetable shortening here is a special ingredient for borden mincemeat cookies. Stir in 2 cups of mincemeat.
