For the best maple flavor use pure maple syrup (unless you are following a low carb or keto diet, then see the next tip). To make this recipe keto-friendly, use a keto-approved maple syrup. Store any leftover sausage in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.

In a small bowl, combine the syrup, brown sugar and cinnamon; pour over sausages. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until sausages are glazed.
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Start off setting a cast iron skillet to heat up over a medium flame. When it's almost smoking, cook your sausage links until they're almost thoroughly cooked. While they're cooking, slice your mushrooms and onion. When the sausages are almost done, take them out of the skillet.
Sage is often found in sausage, so this recipe uses plenty. I also added nutmeg and allspice to compliment the sweetness of the maple syrup. There is no egg, flour, or other additives in this recipe.
