1. Preheat the oven to 400° F.
2. Cut the top ½ off of your onion and remove the outer layer and discard. Then place the flat part of the onion on the cutting board (root side up). Starting about ¼ inch from the root make cuts going straight down. Go all the way around the onion. Flip the onion back over and allow the onion petals to fan out, then place the onion on a cookie sheet.
3. In a small bowl whisk together eggs and water. In a second bowl mix together the almond flour, garlic salt, paprika, and pepper.
4. Pour your egg wash mixture over the onion then use a pastry brush to spread it over all of the petals, then sprinkle the almond flour mixture all over the onion.

1. Slice ½ -1 inch off the top of the onion, and remove the outer skin.
2. Place the onion cut side down on a cutting board, and make four equally dispersed cuts all the way through the onion, starting just a bit down from the end so that you do not separate the pieces from the onion with your cut. You can see the photo for reference.
3. After the first four sections are created with the initial cuts, use a sharp knife to make four more evenly dispersed cuts in each of the four sections created. You will then have a total of 16 cuts through the onion.
4. Turn the onion over carefully, and feather out the petals that you have created with your cuts.
