Brewer’s yeast is always found in classic lactation cookie recipes, but if you’re gluten-free and can’t find one that is certified gluten-free, or if you can’t find a de-bittered version (it tastes terrible otherwise), try using nutritional yeast instead.
The sweetness from the sugar and chocolate chips covers up the taste of the more bitter ingredients (because no one actually enjoys the taste of brewer’s yeast). We adapted this recipe from Exclusive Pumping. It yields 4 dozen cookies. 1/3 cup brewer’s yeast. We love this brand. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
