Perfect for those with sensitive skin, this homemade glycerin soap recipe makes a hard bar of soap that lathers nicely while gently cleansing and moisturizing your skin. Makes around 8 bars of soap.
Melt the glycerin in a double boiler. [3] Cut off as much glycerin as you need to fill the soap molds you bought, then slice it into small pieces that will be easier to melt. Place the glycerin pieces in a double boiler, fill the boiler with water, and place it over medium heat. Continue heating the glycerin until it is completely melted.
Now you can pour glycerin soap base into a mold. I use a glass cake pan. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for a week or so. When it is clear (it may take a week or two) cut it into pieces and store it in a glass jar. Made this recipe? Mention @diynatural or tag it #diynatural!
If your soap develops glycerin dew on the surface while curing, you can dab it off with a paper towel or clean (non-linty) dishtowel. It will still melt up fine when the time comes to make projects with it. Aloe Variation: Aloe vera liquid can be used to replace part or all of the water.
