Like many popular family recipes in NZ and Australia, Devilled Sausages are often cooked from a packet mix, but it is perfectly easy to make them at home with ingredients you likely already have in the cupboard. Better yet, you can adjust the flavouring to suit your tastes and you know exactly what goes into your meal. No packet mix necessary!
Whisk together mustard, Worcestershire, soy sauce, corn flour, tomato paste and water in a mixing bowl and set aside. Heat 2 tablespoons of water (per serve) in a large fry pan, add sausages and poach evenly on all sides for about 5 minutes, until just cooked.
Combine the tomato sauce, cornflour, Worcestershire sauce, spices and brown sugar with 2 cups of water, then whisk to mix well. Add the sultanas, then pour the sauce mix into the pan and mix well. Cover and simmer gently for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sausages are cooked and the sauce thickens.
Given this would be a main meal for the day, this is a reasonable amount of carbs. Keep in mind to add whatever you serve it with eg. cauliflower mash or rice, extra vegetables as the macros are for one serve of curried sausages only. An easy and delicious weeknight meal, these keto curried sausages will please the whole family.
