DirectionsStep1Grind the vanilla biscuits with a hand grinder or crush them on the work surface with a rolling pin.Step2Place the ground biscuits, ground nuts, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar in a large bowl. Add the butter, cutting it into smaller pieces. Pour in milk and rum.Step3Make a smooth dough. Gradually work the butter with your fingers, rubbing it with the other ingredients until crumbs form. Turn the mixture out onto a work surface and knead by hand into a compact dough.Step4Wrap the dough in cling film and put it to rest in the fridge for two hours.Step5In a separate bowl, put softened butter, powdered sugar, egg yolk, and rum. Using a spoon, whip everything until light and airy (1 minute or so).Step6Sprinkle half a cup of granulated sugar on a work surface.Step7Rinse the cookie mold with cold water and sprinkle it with the sugar inside that you have previously poured on the work surface. Tap the mold lightly to shake off the excess sugar.Step8Take the cookie dough out of the fridge. Scoop out a small piece of dough and squeeze it a few times in your palm. The heat in your palm will help soften the butter in the dough, making it easier to work with…Step9Carefully make a hole in the middle, either with your finger or the round end of a wooden spoon. Do not use too much pressure; the cookie won't come out easily and will tear.Step10Fill the hole with rum custard. I myself use a teaspoon for this.Step11To finish the base, use a round biscuit or wafer to seal the bottom.Step12Carefully tap the mold on the work surface to release the cookie.Step13Sprinkle the inside of the mold with sugar again (do not rinse anymore!). Repeat making beehive cookies until you have used up all the dough and fillingIngredientsIngredients6 ouncesVanilla Biscuits Czech Piskoty (170 g, or in the US, vanilla wafers)⅓ cupGround Walnuts (40 g)1 stickUnsalted Butter (110 g)add cupsPowdered Sugar (180 g)3 tablespoonsCocoa Powder (unsweetened)2 tablespoonsMilk4 tablespoonsRum1 stickUnsalted Butter (softened at room temperature)½ cupPowdered Sugar (60 g)1 Egg Yolk (or 2 Tbsp eggnog or sweetened condensed milk)30 piecesRound Vanilla Wafers (Nilla Vanilla Wafers, in the US stores)½ cupGranulated Sugar (100 g, to dust the cookie mold)See moreNutritionalNutritional147 Calories9 gTotal Fat23 mgCholesterol17 gCarbohydrate28 mgSodium1 gProteinFrom cooklikeczechs.comRecipeDirectionsIngredientsNutritionalExplore furtherCrispy Homemade Biscuits – Czech Piškoty - Cook Like …cooklikeczechs.com9 Delicious Traditional Czech Desserts - Chef's Pencilchefspencil.comOpen-Faced Sandwiches – Czech Chlebíčky - Cook Like …cooklikeczechs.comTop 20 Traditional Czech Foods - Chef's Pencilchefspencil.comThe 27 Most Popular and Authentic Czech Recipes 196 flavors196flavors.comTypical Czech Food - 25 Traditional Dishes & Desserts - …euroviajar.comRecommended to you based on what's popular • Feedback

    1. Grind the spices together in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle. In a medium mixing bowl combine spices with flour and baking soda.
    2. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat together the eggs and powdered sugar (start on low speed first so you don’t get a cloud of powdered sugar). Beat until frothy and the sugar is dissolved, scraping down the sides once or twice as needed. Add the honey and melted butter, and continue to mix until smooth. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and mix until it starts coming together into a dry and crumbly dough.
    3. Carefully dump it out of the bowl onto a large work surface and knead gently by hand until all of the crumbs are absorbed, and the dough is a smooth, cohesive, and sticky mass. The dough is ready immediately to roll out and cut into shapes.
    4. Preheat the oven to 250°F. Line 3 to 4 baking sheets with parchment paper.
