3. Next in another small bowl, stir together the sugar alternative and the ground cinnamon. You can set this bowl aside as well.
4. For the next step we will heat up the mentioned ingredients in a medium saucepan on medium heat. Since we are using a brown sugar alternative, your results will not be exactly like they would be if you were using brown sugar. However, the results should be suitable for this recipe. Add the brown sugar alternative, water,and butter and stir continuously as you bring the mix to a boil.
