A simple and delicious recipe for carne picada. Serve it in soft tacos, tacos dorados (fried tacos), burritos, quesadillas, or tostadas. Or as a main dish with a side of rice and beans. Combine flour, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a large bowl, mix to combine. Toss meat in flour mixture until well coated.
Carne Picada literally translates to "minced meat" in Spanish, and can typically be found sold in packages as cubed, thinly sliced, or shaved beef. You can find it in packages literally labeled as carne picada meat. It's perfect for recipes like tacos, fajitas, burrito bowls, and even Mexican pizza!
Marinate the meat in the fridge. I recommend anywhere from 2-8 hours, but no longer as you don’t want to end up with mushy meat. I like to drizzle the marinade over the meat in a glass baking dish. Store it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to cook it. PRO TIP: Remove your Mexican carne asada about 30 minutes before you’re going to cook it.
To reheat the carne picada, the best way is to put it back in a large pot on the stovetop over low heat. Then, warm it up for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently until it reaches your desired temperature. Also, just so you know, you can add some water - or stock - to the pot to keep the meat from drying out. What is carne picada made of?
