1. In a dutch oven or large stockpot, begin by browning the beef over medium-high for 6-7 minutes. When the beef is fully cooked there is no need to drain it. The extra fat adds tons of extra flavor!
2. Add the chopped onions and green pepper to the beef and cook an additional 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Add the garlic and cook one minute until it gets fragrant. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour.
3. We used an 8 oz package, which serves 1 person, so when purchasing for multiple people, you'll want to buy at least one 8 oz package per person.
