How to Make Taralli. In a large bowl whisk together the flour, salt and fennel seeds (or add whatever spice you like), then add the olive oil and wine, combine, then move the dough to a flat surface and knead for approximately 10 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic. Let the dough rest 30 minutes covered in a bowl.
Pre-heat oven to 375F (190C). Place the dried taralli on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Turn off the oven, open the door half way and leave for 10 minutes. Move to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
Italian cookies eaten at Easter, Christmas, and special occasions. Delicious also without the icing. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Beat eggs in a large bowl using an electric mixer until fluffy. Add oil, orange zest, and juice; mix well. Beat in sugar slowly.
To make taralli with fennel, first place the flour on a pastry board or kitchen mixer and combine with 1 tsp yeast, the fennel seeds, 1 tsp salt, and a pinch of black pepper.
