1. Position an oven rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 375F degrees. Grease a standard 9x5-inch loaf pan. (I coated mine with nonstick cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, white flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Add the butter, buttermilk, and molasses and stir until blended.
3. Scrape the batter into the prepared. Bake for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
4. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 5 minutes or so.

4. When the whole wheat flour has absorbed a lot of the liquid, stir the all-purpose flour into the bowl. Knead with the dough hook attachment for 7 minutes, until you've got a strong dough. You might have to add more warm water or all-purpose flour to get the right texture.
