1. Heat oil (2 tablespoons) in a medium sauce pan over medium heat.

3. Add tomato paste (4 tablespoons), basil (1 teaspoon), oregano (3/4 teaspoon), fennel (1/2 teaspoon), salt (1 1/2 teaspoon) and black pepper (1/4 teaspoon). Cook and stir the sauce for a few minutes to incorporate.
4. Add crushed tomatoes (1 -28 Ounces), stir, and cook for about 5 more minutes.
