3. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking mat.
4. Bake for 20 minutes. Do not allow shortbread to brown; the edges should have the faintest golden tinge.Check your oven sooner if it runs hot.

4. In a small bowl whisk the lemon juice, powdered sugar, and zest of one lemon. Dip the top of each cookie into the glaze and place on a wire rack to set.
