Last week, the theme parks sent out a link to Disneyland app users that led to a recipe for how to make its popular Dole Whip pineapple frozen treat, a soft-serve wonder made with pineapple, pineapple juice and ice cream. Curiously, Dole has also published a DIY Dole Whip recipe, which is a tiny bit different, and can be found here.
3 cups cold water (or 2 cups cold water and 1 cup milk if you want it creamier) Freeze your ice cream maker mixing bowl if needed, this will depend on your ice cream mixer. Once your mixer bowl is frozen, put the machine together. Then start making the Dole Whip Mixture. Add cold water to a bowl or a large liquid measuring cup.
Instructions 1 To a blender or a food processor add the pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, and ice cream. 2 Blend them to smooth and creamy at a high speed. 3 Transfer them to a piping bag with a star nozzle. 4 Pipe the dole whip to a serving glass and serve it chill.
Now this is the easy-but-not-authentic-but-still-vegan option. It’s basically pineapple flavored banana soft serve. But it IS vegan so if you’re looking to get closer to Dole Whip than the recipe Disney shared, look no further! Combine frozen pineapple juice, banana, and 2 1/2 teaspoons confectioner’s sugar in a blender.
