Victoria's CWA Pop-Up shop is back open for business after a Covid enforced break and the ladies have shared their famous scone recipe: Sift flour (very important), add other dry ingredients, add cream and milk to dry ingredients and mix to make a soft dough using a knife not a spoon.
Tip the mixture onto a lightly floured bench and use a circular cutter to cut out your date scones. Place the scones so that they are almost touching onto a tray lined with baking paper and lightly brush with the extra milk. Bake for 12 – 15 minutes or until they begin to brown on top and sound hollow when tapped.
Here are a few ways that you can change up this scone recipe. Keto Blueberry Scones: Add 3 tbsp of dried blueberries or 1/4 cup of fresh blueberries. You can also add lemon zest and blueberries to make Keto Lemon Blueberry Scones. Orange Scones: Add 2 teaspoons of orange zest to the scone recipe.
