Frequently Asked Questions

How to make a body exfoliating coffee scrub recipe?

A body exfoliating coffee scrub recipe is often made with sea salt, as the granules are larger than sugar, and hence more abrasive. I generally keep salt scrubs for the body simple the one below has just 3 ingredients; coffee grounds, salt and coconut oil. White sugar can be used for a gentler scrub.

Is brown sugar or coffee grounds better for body scrubs?

Coffee grounds are slightly abrasive but still gentle as a skin exfoliator - which is why it's one of my favorite body scrub ingredients. Brown sugar is a little more abrasive than coffee grounds, but definitely not pain-inducing like some sea salt scrubs can be (why?!).

What are the benefits of using coffee as a face scrub?

Both the stimulation of the scrubbing and the caffeine in the coffee will increase circulation in the face. This increase will assist in collagen production and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. When making a face scrub, I prefer to use sugar as it is gentler and dissolves easier than salt.

What is a coffee honey and olive oil face scrub?

A coffee honey and olive oil face scrub is a well-known remedy for exfoliating and moisturizing the skin at the same time. Coffee powder boosts collagen production, and, on the other hand, olive oil helps repair damaged tissues and strengthen the skin. Half Tablespoon - Coffee powder. One Tablespoon - Olive oil (melted).
