1. Preheat oven to 350º F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
2. Mix cake mix with 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in a large bowl until just combined, then transfer to greased baking dish. Use a rubber spatula to spread mixture into an even layer.
3. In a separate bowl or mixer, beat cream cheese for 2-3 minutes, or until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, waiting for each to be incorporated before adding the next. Mix in cocoa powder and instant coffee granules until smooth.
4. Gradually mix in powdered sugar (on low speed, if using a mixer), then drizzle in remaining melted butter and vanilla extract.

1. First things first: to make the chocolate cake according to the box instructions or your favorite chocolate cake recipe. Either will work as long as you make a sheet cake in a 9x13 pan.Once it is done (you can stick a toothpick or knife in the cake and it comes out clean) then let it cool.
2. Next you are going to poke holes all over the top of the cake as shown in the photo. Poke the holes about a half inch apart, covering the entire surface of the cake.
3. Now we are going to add the ingredients that make this cake superior to all other chocolate cakes. Pour the caramel topping and the sweetened condensed milk on top of the cake. Use a spatula to spread them over the entire surface and prevent it from pooling in the corners and edges.
4. Now put the cake in the refrigerator for an hour to overnight. Really as long as you need. This is to let the caramel and sweetened condensed milk completely soak into the sponge cake and get nice and moist.
