On your stovetop, heat a little quantity of oil in a big oven-proof pan (we use cast iron) over high heat. On the first side, sear the meat for 2-3 minutes or until nicely browned. Place the pan in the preheated oven and cook until the meat is done to your liking (see the Omaha Steaks Cooking Chart).
Most restaurant steaks are 2 inches thick and cooked medium rare if not otherwise specified. When you're cooking at home, you can prepare your Omaha steak rare, medium rare, well done or anything in between. Depending on the size of your steaks and your preferences, cooking times can have a wide range of "done" times.
When cooking a steak on the stove, it is best to season it liberally with salt. It’s also important to allow it to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking it. Then, place it in a pan with a little oil. After a couple of minutes, flip it over and cook for a further two to four minutes.
Cooking time depends on the desired level of doneness. To cook Omaha Steak Burgers from frozen, you can place them directly on the grill. However, they will take longer to cook. It is important to keep in mind that a frozen burger can release more water than one that has been thawed. This makes it harder to judge when the burger is fully cooked.
