Soak daal chana in water for about 1 hour. Mix ¼ cup water in balai and boil lentil in this mixture for about 15 minutes. Let it cool for 5 minutes then grind. Heat desi ghee in wok and pour ground daal in it.
While roasting the lentil, add some chopped almonds. Once you feel the aroma of chana dal halwa, and it tend to repel the pan bottom, halwa is ready. Now we have to solidify halwa. Grease rolling pin, platter and knife with ghee. Add halwa to the platter, and lay across, with the help of rolling pin.
