Shoyu Chicken is made from shoyu (also called soy sauce) and chicken. The chicken is browned and then cooked over low heat in a mixture of shoyu, sugar, water, and rice vinegar. We add a little garlic and ginger for flavor. It’s an easy, no fuss dish that is made in one pot/pan.

Skinless or boneless chicken thighs work too. 1 cup brown sugar (more brown sugar or white sugar may be better if you are using a store brand soy sauce) Simply, add all the sauce ingredients (except water and cornstarch) into a bowl and mix . Next, heat a large saute pan on high on medium high.
Strain the sauce and bring to a boil. Mix the cornstarch and water together to make a slurry. Pour the slurry into the sauce. Cook until the sauce has thickened about 5 minutes. Pour the sauce over the chicken and garnish with green onions. This Shoyu chicken is too easy!
