Crafting Basics. To craft something in Minecraft move the required items from your inventory into the crafting grid and arrange them in the pattern representing the item you wish to create. The 2x2 crafting grid can be accessed from the inventory screen and a workbench contains a 3x3 grid when right clicked.
Drag items to the crafting area. Each craftable item has its own recipe. When you drag the right items into the crafting area, the result of the recipe will appear in the box on the right. Minecraft doesn't tell you the recipes, so it's up to you to discover them.
