Mushy Peas are a great side dish with entrees such as fried cod or savory salmon, and sides like tater tots. Note: You can add more liquid (water or cream) depending how mushy you want your peas. Use low fat milk if you're calorie-conscious. This is a fast and easy side dish to go with chicken, beef or pork.
This Creamy Pea Salad is such a lovely summertime side dish that is cool, refreshing yet filling and satisfying. And it comes together so quickly and easily, with absolutely no cooking required. I loooooove to make this salad for fuss-free midweek meals, to take to potlucks, to serve at backyard barbecues and picnics. Yeap.
Place thawed peas in a mixing bowl. Add Greek yogurt, diced onions, bacon, and peanuts to peas, and mix until well combined. Place mixture in refrigerator to chill before serving. I didn't add any salt or pepper to the salad since the bacon and peanuts are salted, but you may add a little salt and pepper if you wish.
