‘Original Dromedary Date Nut Bread’ is a super simple recipe and the tastiest one. To make the dish, we used little dried fresh dates and walnuts. Dried dates are naturally sticky and plump and their skin can’t be discarded. You need to remove the seeds and the whole dates. Other steps consist of flours and walnuts.
Combine baking soda with the boiling water. Soak the dates in the water and baking soda solution for 30 minutes. Cream sugar and butter together. Add eggs, vanilla, dates, nuts, flour, and salt. Divide batter equally between two 9 x 5 (or 8 1/2 x 4 1/2) inch greased loaf pans. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) (or until loaf tests done).
Spread batter in prepared pan to a depth of about 1/2 inch. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. When done, cut into 4" x 1" bars. Remove from pan while still warm. “From the back of the Dromedary date package.”
