2. Measure 8oz self raising flour and add a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of baking powder. Using self raising flour as well as baking powder will make your scones rise beautifully.
3. Add 2oz softened butter and 1oz sugar and mix to a dough with about 1 teacup of milk. Roll out your dough to a thickness of about half an inch and use a cutter of around 2” diameter to cut into rounds. Place on a greased baking sheet and cook for around 12 minutes until well-risen and golden.
